Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo
International Centre
November 3 – 4, 2010

The 2010 Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo considered to be one of the most successful in history with a 24% increase in attendance

The 13th edition hosted 206 exhibitors from 4 countries in 9,290 gross square meters

The 2011 event will reach a new market with the first ever Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo to take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

The Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo (CWRE), Canada’s only trade show serving the waste, recycling and public works markets, marked its 13th exhibition with its November 3 – 4 trade show at the International Centre in Toronto.

The event showcased 206 exhibitors from Canada, the US, China and Italy focused on all aspects of collection, hauling and processing of waste and recycling programs.  In addition, the show welcomed 1,690 individual buyers from 11 countries who experienced the products, services and technologies offered by exhibitors, learned about industry innovations and networked with peers during the many special events.  The buyer attendance at the 2010 event grew 24% in comparison with the last Toronto event in 2008, signaling the growth and interest in the waste and recycling markets.

“The reception from the attendees at the Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo was far greater than any other trucking show I have attended,” said Bruce Peck of Innovative Hydrogen Solutions.

New to the show this year was the Canadian Waste Sector Symposium (CWSS), produced by the Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA).  "Together the Canadian Waste Sector Symposium and the Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo provided business and municipalities with unparalleled opportunities to learn, network and keep abreast of waste industry technology - a unique Canadian opportunity and experience," said Rob Cook, president of the Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA).  The 2 ½ day CWSS event included options for three facility tours (Composting & Organics Processing; MRF's and Transfer Stations; Electronics Recycling, Collection and Processing) and 1 ½ days of sessions covering a variety of the most relevant topics facing the industry.

“As Canada’s premier waste, recycling and public works show, we strive to showcase the best the industry has to offer,” said Kristen Woodburn, show director with Messe Frankfurt Inc.  “From the Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo exhibitors and attendees to the special events and co-located Canadian Waste Sector Symposium, the quality of this year’s show far exceeded our expectations.”

“The Full Symposium Package and networking receptions were excellent,” stated Debbie Achatz with Sick Ltd.  “Overall I was very impressed and look forward to attending next year.”

Responding to feedback from key exhibitors and manufacturers in the industry, the 14th edition of the Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo will take place for the first time in Montreal, November 9  - 10, 2011 at the Palais de Congrés de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
